What is RoofHero?

RoofHero is a two-sided marketplace for connecting homeowners with the best roofing company for their home.  For homeowners, they simply go to RoofHero and answer a few questions.  They are presented immediately with the square footage of their home, which helps build confidence in RoofHero's instance surface area algorithm.  Finally, they have the option to submit their information to be contacted by one roofer near them.

In the event RoofHero has a pre-vetted roofing company live in their zip code, RoofHero will match that homeowner with the roofer.  There is always a 1:1 mapping, and homeowner's information is never resold.  We started building the system like this from the beginning, even before the FCC's recent regulations regarding 1:1 consent.  There are many reasons we avoided the “shared leads” model, including:

• Homeowners don't like the idea of submitting their valued personal information, not knowing exactly what will be done with it
• Often, when homeowners do submit their information, they are inundated with solicitations from any number of service companies
• Contractors are equally frustrated with this process as there is now inherently higher competition for the lead

RoofHero is designed to be a lightning fast tool for homeowners to get an instant quote online and connect with a pre-vetted roofing company.  For contractors, we charge a subscription to be live on the platform and eligible to receive leads.  Next, we'll talk about how RoofHero works from the contractor's perspective.

How does RoofHero work for contractors?

If you haven't already, go through the registration form for exclusive leads here.  You'll answer a few questions.  Next, you'll be greated with the option to login to your newly created profile.  Click around and make yourself familiar with the awesome level of control you have.  You have the ability to modify your material specific roofing prices, contact information, calendly link (so homeowners can schedule directly online with you), service area, and view and manage lead statuses.

One big differentiator between RoofHero and other leads services is our meticulous tracking of lead statuses.  We aggregate the lead statuses across all roofing partners, and pool the information to make our website drive customers more likely to convert to actual sales.  It's important to stay on top of this – marking when a lead is scheduled, not interested, pending, or sold.  You're also able to view key analytics for your account.  How much you've spent, lead count totals, sale totals, ROI on your investment, etc.

For payment, we bill a monthly subscription starting at $2k/mo.  You can increment to whatever subscription amount you like (similar to Google Ads), in increments of $2k.  Simply adjust the “quantity” field on the subscription page to start off on a higher subscription.  You can always email us at [email protected] to increase your subscription amount after initially subscribing once you start to see an ROI.

To succeed on RoofHero's platform and see a solid return, you only need to close about 10% of the leads.  So if you get 20 leads, if 2 close (assuming an average ticket of $15,000 at 35% job margin), you will have spent $2k to gross $30k in sales, with a $10,500 job profit.  You gross marketing spend ratio (subscription / gross sales) would come out to 6.7%.  In roofing, an 8% marketing to gross sales ratio is considered fantastic.  We have partners with thresholds as high as 16%.  Your ROI on your investment would be 525% ($10,500 gross profit / $2,000 subscription).  Hopefully you can see that signing up is a no-brainer.

What happens behind the scenes?

Once your profile is set up, you have subscribed, and you have your service area uploaded, your profile is now live.  In the background, the RoofHero engine has now spun up campaigns on Google Ads, Meta Ads, NextDoor, TikTok, Taboola, among other proprietary sources.  This is part of the beauty of RoofHero.  We manage all of these complicated integrations, driving traffic to our high-performing landing pages, and you simply receive leads.

Leads are delivered the following ways:

• Emailed to your leads inbox
• Texted to your contact phone number on file
• Logged in your RoofHero dashboard
• Optionally, posted to your CRM

When the homeowner finishes the form, they are presented with a page that looks like this: RoofHero Quote.  Included on this page is the following:

• Estimated surface area of the homeowner's roof
• Confirmation of the roof's material
• A price specific to your material pricing, ranging “good” to “best”
• Your business name
• Your business phone number
• Your custom calendar link for scheduling a site visit online

At this point, either you or the homeowner can take action to contact one another.  You both have each other's information.  Importantly, as part of our homeowner lead form, we require two-factor authentication with the phone number they submit.  So every phone number is guaranteed, which drives higher quality leads for you.

How many leads can I expect to receive?

Use our handy roofing lead ROI calculator to estimate lead volume.  We do not control your ability to close, your average ticket price, or your margins.  So you can toggle those values appropriately.  The lead volume estimate produced is a factor of market competition and subscription amount.  Play around with different values and find the best subscription amount that makes sense for your business.  For market competition, high cost of living zones with large population densities would be “high”.  Rural, lower cost of living, and lower population density zones would be “low”.  Medium would be in between.  The lead volume estimate is based on our historical internal lead costs, but is not guaranteed.  We are incentivized to drive you the highest number of high quality leads over time so that you stay subscribed month over month, so our incentives are aligned.
